What Level 2 charging actually means
A Level 1 charger is the cord that comes with your vehicle. It plugs into a standard wall outlet and adds about 3 to 5 miles of range per hour. Fine for a plug-in hybrid. Not great for a full EV.
A Level 2 charger runs on a 240-volt dedicated circuit, the same kind your electric dryer uses. It adds 20 to 30 miles of range per hour depending on the vehicle and the charger. Most people plug in when they get home and wake up to a full battery.
What the installation involves
The electrician runs a dedicated 240-volt circuit from your panel to wherever you want the charger mounted. Usually the garage, but sometimes a carport or exterior wall. The circuit needs its own breaker, typically 50 amps for most Level 2 chargers. A permit is required in Carson City and Douglas County. The electrician handles that.
If your panel doesn't have capacity for a new 50-amp circuit, that conversation happens before the work starts. Sometimes a panel upgrade is needed first, sometimes it isn't.

The most common home chargers we see installed are from ChargePoint, Grizzl-E, Emporia, and Enel X JuiceBox. If you haven't bought one yet, the electrician can give you a recommendation based on your vehicle and setup. If you already have one, bring it and they'll install it.
